Jennifer Austin is a senior at St. Cloud State University. She's been actively involved in UTVS News for over two years, but her passion for journalism started long before she stepped into the UTVS newsroom. She's been telling stories since the first grade, when she wrote a story for her teacher about the scary monster under her bed (she slept on a bunk bed above her younger sister). Her love of storytelling and desire to inform led her to pursue a career in journalism. Jennifer has held many roles in student media at SCSU including President of the SCSU Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Jennifer has also held internships at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis and the Northland's NewsCenter in Duluth. Jennifer believes the best stories in history are not those which are made up. They are the ones about people, for people. Good and bad. There are many things in the world scarier than bed-dwelling monsters. If Jennifer can be the person to tell the world about them, she'll consider her professional life a success.
