ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Summertime by Lake George is quickly becoming a mid-week ritual for many families in the St. Cloud area. It includes many activities such as a farmers market, live music, and a beer garden.The St. Cloud Rotary puts on this event every Wednesday evening from 5-9 p.m. at Lake George in the historic South side Neighborhood.
Rotary member Lee Monk expressed that he feels like putting on these events is a way to give back to the community.
There are many activities for young children and families as well as adult activities. The splash pad is open until 8:00 p.m. AirMaxx Trampoline Park is always near the back of the farmers market harnessing children to bungee cords and allowing them to launch high in the air.
Food is another big seller at the Lake George event. There are many food trucks as well as stands from various restaurants within the city.
The St. Cloud Police also attend to bond with the community and also for security. Officer Jeff Oxton said that they have not had any arrests or disorderly conduct charges at this event.
“This is a safe, fun event for families to attend,” Oxton said.
This event kicked off last year and has continued. It was expressed by many at the event that there were thousands of citizens in attendance.
