This years team is determined to go farther. This years team is full of experience, lead by 7 seniors. The dutchmen backcourt is lead by there two star seniors, Scottie Stone and Isaac Sawyer. This past week, Stone broke the all-time school record for points in a game, 44, and the all-time career points record at 1,760.
Sawyer is just as good. Both Sawyer and Stone have gotten offers to play college basketball at the Division II level. Stone accepted a scholarschip to play at St. Cloud State University next season, and Sawyer has been given offers to Minnesota State-Mankato and many schools in Wisconsin.
With less than a month left in the season, the Dutchmen are eyeing the number one seed in the sub-section. But that is not enough for Melrose. The Dutchmen want to make it down to the Target Center for the State Tournament, and bring home a trophy to the community of Melrose.
