ROCHESTER, Minnesota —The IBM manufacture company says it’s moving most production from its Rochester plant to Mexico and New York state. The spokesman for IBM, Scott Cook says” manufacturing of its Power Systems, PureSystems and PureFlex Systems servers will be moved to Guadalajara, Mexico.” The refurbishing of used IBM machines will be moved to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Cook won’t say or give any details on how many jobs will be lost in Rochester when the manufacturing transition is complete next year. Cook tells KTTC-TV (http://bit.ly/WJj4yH ) the move is about creating the best possible infrastructure” for the company. The company, IBM manufactures and markets computer hardware and software and is headquartered in Armonk, New York.
