Woman steals jewelry from children

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A woman is accused of stealing gold chains worth hundreds of dollars off the necks of children in St. Paul.

Twenty-six-year-old Tria Moua is charged in Ramsey County court with theft and false imprisonment.

Prosecutors say over the past few weeks, Moua approached parents as well as children at three locations in St. Paul and persuaded the children to go with her, often in her van. In each case, the child was missing jewelry after being returned by Moua.

No children reported being harmed.

Moua remained in jail Monday evening.
