ST. CLOID, Minn. - The River’s Edge Convention Center is holding the 24th annual St. Cloud Sportsman’s Show this weekend. The event began Friday at noon and runs until 6 p.m. Sunday.
The event includes vendors showcasing their products which range from guns, outdoor gear, RVs, ATVs and much more as well as four repeating seminars featuring expert hunters and anglers.
Mark “Gumby” Brummer of B&B Shore Service was there selling Porta Dock boat lifts and sees the positive impact on his company. “We get a chance to show our product and if they like it we get a sale, it may be a year from now it may be three years from now but to say that a show is not beneficial would be lying.”
The show features the latest innovations and items for anyone, ranging from the most avid outdoors man to the causal fisherman.
Paul Grimes, director of the Outdoor Adventure Foundation, an organization that provides opportunities to children with terminal illnesses and disabled veterans to go hunting, says sportsman’s shows are opportunities to raise funds for their cause. “The show is a great way to gain exposure and to raise funds.”
With the event taking place in the newly renovated civic center, the event was able to be larger and more efficient. Larry Schmidt, an event-goer enjoyed the added space, “It’s easier to get around, the aisles are nice and wide, so you get a chance to view everything.”
Admission is $6 for adults, $2.50 for children and free for kids under five.
